When Something Happens…
If you believe you have been a victim of discrimination, hate crime, or any hateful act or statement directed at you because of your identity, or if you have seen such an act committed, please contact the Plymouth Police Department (508) 830-4218. Also please inform the No Place for Hate Chair at npfhchair@gmail.com.
The Chair will immediately gather information about the incident, including contacting the victim, witnesses and Police Department as necessary. The Committee will determine what action is necessary and appropriate for it to pursue. This may include bringing the incident to the attention of key town officials. If no crime has been committed, no individual of group’s civil rights have been violated and the conduct involved is protected by the First Amendment (i.e. free speech and peaceable assembly), the Committee may not advocate for legal action. However, the Committee will determine what further steps may be required to support the victim(s) and to mitigate the likelihood of similar offensive acts occuring in the future.
